This slow sizzzling track feels definitively blisssed-out, but keeps a tinge of sadness. The stunning shot-on-film video produced by Newfoundland Tack, directed by Andrew de Freitas fits that mood. Like the beautiful isolation of swimming laps.
Disclosure: I’ve been dear friends with Philadelphia’s Rosali Middleman for many years. I’ve seen her play her songs a handful of times around town - cross legged around bonfires, kneeling on houseparty hardwood floors or opening at back alley bars in Kensington. To date, it’s felt like a long-in-progress project. However, all of a sudden I catch wind that she’s quietly uploaded her first single to the ‘net. And it’s a glorious yearning - a heartbreak in a bottle. Simple, elegant and captured.
Pick it up on her Bndcmp and stay tuned here for more news - this is part of a larger work that should be done soon!
